Step 3: Now open the newly creates ZIP file using archive software and then open the "xl" folder. Click on "Worksheets" and open the file named "sheet1.xml" using a text editor like WordPad.

Step 4: Find the "sheetProtection" tag and delete it. Save and close the WordPad document.

Step 5: Click "OK" to update the ZIP archive when prompted.

Step 6: Now locate the ZIP file in File Explorer and change the file extension back to .xlsx.

This should effectively lift any restrictions on the document although due to the complexity of the process, most people have had to attempt the process more than once.
